Dorothy L. Leonard. (B.S., Political Science, Syracuse University). President. An internationally recognized aquaculture and shellfish restoration expert, she has worked with the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference (ISSC) for 23 years to reduce shellfish-related diseases. In her 20 years with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) she served as Commerce Department representative on the U.S. Joint Subcommittee on Aquaculture and co-chaired EPA’s aquaculture effluents study. She has served as Maryland's Director of Fisheries. Currently Ms. Leonard chairs three ISSC committees: Vibrio Education, Restoration and Resolutions. She serves on the Scientific Board of the International Conference on Molluscan Shellfish Safety and the International Conference on Shellfish Restoration.

Daniel J. Grosse. (B.S. Natural Resources, University of Michigan, M.S., Ph.D., Fisheries Biology, University of Washington). Vice President. His recent focus has been aquaculture and agriculture development, including helping to commercialize COMB's marine recirculating aquaculture technology. As president of TerrAqua Environmental Science and Policy, LLC (www.terraqua.org), he developed farming studies and projects for clients ranging from small traditional communities to a Fortune 500 company. He has worked for NOAA and the U.S. Navy, and has farmed on Israeli agricultural collectives. Currently, he also grows oysters commercially in Chincoteague, VA (Toby Island Bay Oysters), and is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Maryland University College Graduate Program in Environmental Management.
The Ocean Equities Team also includes advisors and collaborators from University of Maryland Center of Marine Biotechnology, Martha's Vineyard Shellfish Group, Delaware State University, University of Delaware, University of Connecticut, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Virginia Tech, NOAA Fisheries, Greenfuel Technologies and Reed Mariculture.
